The May 23 HITS Spring event at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles will see Lulu Zezza, co-chair of the Content Delivery & Security Association’s (CDSA) Production Security Working Group, offering details on the first-ever content and cybersecurity guidelines for protecting film and TV productions against cyber and physical theft.

The Film & Television Production Security Guidelines aim to give content producers and crew members everything they need to better-secure secure their intellectual property, covering everything from scripts, physical and cloud workspaces, production offices and editing suites, computers, discs, and USBs, and emails.

The 100-page Guidelines cover every aspect of security for multiple types of productions, best practices, tips, a checklist, a general guidance summary, individual responsibility notes and a list of websites that can help with the security cause.

The Guidelines were written by a working group of executives from top content firms, including Amazon Studios, Amblin Entertainment, AMC, Bad Robot, BBC, Fox, Paramount, Marvel, Netflix, NBCUniversal, Turner, Walt Disney, and Warner Bros., with contributions from members of the Producers Guild of America (PGA).

Zezza’s session will highlight the key elements of the publication, and will offer a roadmap for implementing the guidelines for a production.
