Hackers have stolen login data for more than seven million members of the Minecraft site Lifeboat. Lifeboat lets members run servers for customised, multiplayer maps for the smartphone edition of Minecraft.
There is evidence that the stolen information, including email addresses and passwords, is being offered on sites that trade in hacked data. Analysis suggests passwords were very weakly protected so attackers could easily work them out.
Information about the breach was passed to independent security expert Troy Hunt who said he got the list from someone who trades in stolen credentials. Several people had told him the data was circulating on dark net sites.
