CDSA Names New Chairman, Announces Officers, Committees for 2017

CDSA, the international content protection association, has named Ben Stanbury, director of studio content protection for Walt Disney Studios, its new Chairman.  Stanbury will direct the strategy for the Association’s mission of providing industry-wide content protection solutions and information services for media and entertainment.

Stanbury will be supported by an Executive Committee that includes leading security executives from the major Hollywood studios, content creators and television broadcasters.  Lulu Zezza, Production Manager, New Regency, was named Vice President/Treasurer.  Cyril Rickelton-Abdi, Senior Director, Content Security, Turner, was named Vice President/Secretary.  Richard Atkinson, Global Piracy-Conversation Director, Adobe, who served as Chairman of the Board since 2014, was named Vice President/Chairman-Emeritus.

The CDSA Audit Program Committee named its new Chairs and participants: Mike Wilkinson, Director, Content Security & Technology, NBC Comcast; Bryan Esparza, Senior Director, Content Protection, Paramount; and Bob Wenokur, Head of Global Content Security, Lionsgate.

The new CDSA Technology Committee will be Chaired by Jeff Gelb, Head of Information Technology, Amblin Partners; Joel Sloss, Program Manager, Microsoft Azure; and Munya Kanventi, Senior Director, Sony DADC New Media Services.

The Association recently launched the CDSA Europe Committee, with representatives from BBC Worldwide, BT, Disney, ITV, NBC Universal, Premier League, Sky, Sports Rights Owners Coalition (SROC), Warner Bros, and Virgin Media participating.

CDSA is a 45-year old non-profit association that supports industry standards and best practices for content security and protection.  In addition to its annual CDSA Content Protection Summit, the group publishes news and training information to support its membership of media & entertainment content security executives.
