XL8 Achieves the TPN Gold Shield for Cloud Security

XL8 has successfully achieved its Trusted Partner Network Gold Shield status for cloud security. MediaCAT, a cloud-based localization platform, designed to streamline localization workflows, has completed a third-party assessment, demonstrating XL8’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest levels of data security.

XL8’s TPN Gold status is an extension of the company’s Blue Shield, which signifies XL8’s commitment to security.

This audit was conducted directly by a TPN Accredited Assessor against XL8’s ISMS architecture, confirming XL8’s commitment to security preparedness.

‍“We are pleased to have received the TPN Gold Shield status so that XL8’s customers using our cloud-based MediaCAT platform can utilize the system with full knowledge of our security status,” said Jay Park, CTO at XL8. “Building on our previous achievements with SOC 2, we’ve remained committed to upholding the security of our customers’ content in the media supply chain, meeting the high-security requirements of TPN. This achievement demonstrates XL8’s elevated commitment to compliance and data governance in order to protect and secure our customers’ trust.”

The MPA Content Security Best Practices which are managed by TPN and the foundation of the TPN assessment, play a crucial role in a broader initiative led by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) to enhance security across the media industry by setting standards of security excellence. As the primary content security authority for the film and television sector, the TPN provides Media companies with a standardized and centralized means to assess and communicate their security preparedness to assure clients of their commitment to content security.

“We congratulate XL8 on achieving its Gold Shield, demonstrating its dedication to securing content within its digital supply chain and providing their customers with a standardized and centralized report of their security status to safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities,” said Terri Davies, President of TPN.

XL8’s AI-powered MediaCAT platform not only streamlines transcription, subtitling, and dubbing workflows but also provides asset management, in-line editing, and automation capabilities to complement existing content services. At its core, XL8’s machine translation engines are specially optimized for media content, utilizing professionally trained, human-perfected subtitles curated from the top content producers in the media industry. XL8’s “secret sauce” ensures media-focused translation accuracy up to 40% higher than other generally available MT services, with advanced capabilities such as context awareness, multi-modality and formality.

XL8’s full array of media content services featured in MediaCAT includes text and subtitle translations; auto subtitling based on speech recognition through ASR, auto-captioning, and synchronization; and synthesized dubbing and voice-overs. MediaCAT can automatically extract lines from the media content, match the timecode, and translate content to the desired language pair — or multiple language pairs simultaneously. Customers can create a glossary and upload it to their speech-to-speech and machine translation jobs for better accuracy. Recently, XL8 implemented Diarization and a workspace feature for translators to collaborate while working on the same project.
