HITS 2023: Convergent Details How to Automate the Way to Better Security Operations

As technology advances automation, security measures must keep up. Technological complexity and scale of production pose a significant challenge.

In parallel importance with creativity, the media and entertainment supply chain’s primary objective is to safeguard the critical assets and ecosystem through which content flows, from creation to distribution, “script to screen.”

At the May 23 Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS), at the Culver Theater in Los Angeles, and online via MESA’s virtual platform, the MESAverse, the team at Convergent Risks will discuss different perspectives about the measures needed to secure automated environments in the panel session “Automating the Way to Better Security Operations.”

“The source of a security incident often stems from manual error. So how can we introduce automation to minimize human input?” said Juan Reyes, VP of the Americas, cloud security and assurance for Convergent Risks. Reyes will moderate the panel. “Sounds logical but how straightforward is it? The new technology landscape is complex with many applications interfacing with each other. I am looking forward to discussing this with our panel at HITS from both a content owner and SaaS app provider perspective.”

Junaid Banatwala, CTO at Prime Focus Technologies; David Leopold, director of strategic development for media and entertainment at LucidLink; Keith Ritlop, VP of enterprise and production technology at NBCUniversal; and Jason Shea, senior director of app and cloud security for Convergent Risks will round out the panel.

The annual Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS) Spring event is the industry’s largest gathering of media and entertainment’s CIOs and top technology minds, bringing together the IT, data, and security communities of the industry.

Held as a “hybrid” in-person and virtual event, those not in Los Angeles can attend via Zoom or the MESAverse, MESA’s virtual work environment for its members and communities to watch live presentations, network, and step on the stage to share opinions.

The MESAverse uses ICVR’s RendezVu, a proprietary, interactive 3D-world application that will allow for hybrid live and virtual events and regular day-to-day interactions that go far beyond video conferencing.

The Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit event is produced by MESA in association with the Hollywood IT Society (HITS) and presented by Amazon Studios Technology, with sponsorship by Fortinet, Genpact, Prime Focus Technologies, Signiant, Softtek, Convergent, Gracenote, Altman Solon, AppTek, Ascendion, Coresite, EPAM, MicroStrategy, Veritone, CDSA, EIDR and PDG Consulting.
