At the April 17 Content Protection Summit at NAB (CPS@NAB), Ken Gerstein, VP of sales for NAGRA anti-piracy and NexGuard, will offer one of the key presentations of the day: “Inside the Mind of a Pirate – Motivations, Methods, and Results.”

To consumers, illicit services often look genuine, and who wouldn’t jump on a deal offering premium content at a bargain price?

What the industry needs to understand is what makes a pirate tick. What makes otherwise business-savvy individuals take on these illegal activities, even at the risk of getting caught? How do pirate organizations get started, grow and flourish? In this session Gerstein will discuss the motivations, objectives, and methods of pirate activity.

Since 2018, the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) has gathered the security community in Las Vegas during NAB for the Content Protection Summit. The afternoon of keynotes, panels and industry insights will examine the entire entertainment supply chain. The event will be both in-person and online in the MESAVerse, MESA’s virtual work environment for its members and communities.
