In its first live conference presence since the pandemic, AppTek will unveil the latest generation of scientific research and advancements specifically tailored to the unique challenges of media and entertainment professionals with solutions designed to transcribe, analyse, translate and synthesise spoken content.

• Automatic Dubbing: AppTek’s one-of-a-kind automatic dubbing technology automates and accelerates the dubbing process to help content creators reach more audiences across the globe without the high costs and lengthy timelines involved in professional dubbing services. This next generation AI-enabled technology revolutionises spoken translation for video assets by not only automatically transcribing and translating the original audio, but also presenting it back in the same voice and emotion of the source speaker while matching the time constraints and speaker changes within each media asset. By tapping into this technology, content producers can immediately unlock more value from existing media assets by extending their reach to new international audiences with a compelling viewing experience delivered at a fraction of the cost of professional services.

• Neural Speech Synthesis: AppTek’s adaptive text-to-speech (TTS) solutions offer high quality natural sounding synthesised speech that can be used for both off-line dubbing as well as real-time speech generation. The speech synthesis solution is offered through AppTek exclusive voices or can be adapted to customer provided voices to recreate the speaking qualities of the original speaker with any given script. Media and entertainment professionals can now leverage natural, life-like automated speech synthesis to offer their viewership engaging voiceover experiences.

• Subtitling and Captioning Solutions for Media Localisers: AppTek’s ASR and meta-aware MT technologies are designed to support the subtitling and captioning workflows of language service providers and content owners. They aim to reduce manual labor and accelerate production timelines by making use of content metadata, such as genre, style, speaker gender, etc. to produce more accurate machine translations. Furthermore, the company’s highly advanced “Intelligent Line Segmentation” technology has been trained via neural networks on the segmentation decisions of professional captioners and subtitlers in order to deliver more accurately segmented automated subtitles which can provide a significant jump-start to professional workflows.

• Live Automatic Captioning and Speech Translation: AppTek offers live automated captions for broadcasters through its OmniCaption 300 captioning appliance, a cost-effective stand-alone server installed with the latest advancements in ASR technology that resides on-premises and delivers real-time fully-automated closed captions with unmatched accuracy and speed. EditShare

EditShare will use IBC 2022 to showcase how its latest technologies boost quality and efficiency for production and post-production. Demonstrations will show how remote working and the cloud can interwork to give creative artists seamless and secure access to the tools they rely on.

Central to this is the ability to use EditShare storage spaces and FLOW workflow tools to synchronise projects across the popular NLE platforms, including Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The latest release of core FLOW software allows complex projects to be moved as needed between EditShare media management and whichever edit environment the creative team needs to use.

Having its first showing in Amsterdam will be the latest suite of EditShare FLEX software solutions for out-of-the-box cloud and hybrid workflows. FLEX reflects the powerful business trends in post today, including the migration to a “work anywhere” environment, with ready access to content wherever the creative staff need to be. In adopting cloud storage and processing, it also meets the move towards an OpEx financial model, with the cloud hosting and storage fees flexing to reflect the level of business.

EditShare’s EFS Multi-Site will also be on the booth for the first time this IBC. Multi-Site allows users with multiple locations to leverage built-in file acceleration to synchronise project storage between EFS clusters in different facilities. This ensures that users have ready access to content, wherever they choose to work. FLEX Cloud Sync extends the capabilities of Multi-Site to cloud storage, providing added flexibility in access as well as security in archiving.

Content security and availability is vital to professional users, and EditShare has added new hardware and software in this area. The new EFS 60NL nearline storage provides 60 drive bays and nearly 1PB of storage in just 4U of rack space. This offers secure storage for large amounts of content which is needed but not immediately worked on, ready to be transferred to the online servers with virtually no delay.

The 60NL is also the first hardware platform to utilise the new EFS capability for erasure coding-based storage goals, eliminating the need for hardware based RAID.

Eluvio

Eluvio will host a community event during IBC where it will show off the results of its groundbreaking Web3 film experience for The Real Cannonball Run, a fast-paced upcoming film, which will tell the true story of the legendary coast-to-coast automotive protest race across America. Initial details can be found at http://realcannonball.com/.

This will be one of the first films to have ever been produced, curated, and distributed on the blockchain directly to fans. The film initiative uses cutting-edge cloud and Web3 technology provided through a technical solutions partnership with base, and powered by Eluvio’s Content Blockchain.

To bring the film to life, the team is building an end-to-end online content chain with base. Archive film, 4K digital camera rushes and third-party contributor content is securely uploaded to the cloud and automatically transformed to viewing proxies in an Iconik Media Library for the director to view from anywhere and commence tagging and clip selection. Editing is performed using Adobe CC, hosted entirely in the cloud, leveraging BeBop OS, enabling the editors, directors, producers and post supervisor to collaborate across global locations.

When the film is completed and mastered, entirely conducted on base’s cloud solutions platform, the finished exports will be uploaded on the Eluvio Content Blockchain, leveraging a custom integration with BeBop OS. BeBop OS not only provides the operating system used by base, enabling Adobe editing to take place on virtual workstations hosted in the cloud, but is also directly connected into Eluvio’s global blockchain infrastructure.
