Convergent Risks, a leading provider of site, cloud and application security assurance and testing services for the media and entertainment supply chain, has expanded its application security services with the hiring of Jason Shea, senior director of application and cloud security.

Shea previously managed studio content security operations and application and cloud security for Walt Disney Studios.

In 2019 Convergent launched a cloud security best practice assurance programme to help SaaS application providers and hybrid or cloud native post-production supply chain vendors improve security levels. Convergent partners with the Trusted Partner Network (TPN) to provide security assessments for the TPN’s cloud security pilot programme, launched in April 2022.

“Jason Shea brings with him considerable AppSec experience and supply chain relationships through his in-depth knowledge of content security assessments for applications and cloud environments, operational content security, vulnerability management and next generation end-point detection and response, both from a studio and vendor perspective,” said Convergent CEO Chris Johnson.

The Convergent security assessment control matrix, used by content owners and the TPN, incorporates the CIS Benchmarks for Azure, AWS and Google cloud security provider best practice, as well as the CSA CCM cloud controls together with cloud configuration vulnerability management. Convergent is also a principal provider of OWASP threat assessment penetration testing, privacy compliance and SOC2 and ISO readiness.
