Convergent Risks Restarts On-Site TPN Security Assessments

Convergent Risks, a provider of security, risk and compliance services for the media and entertainment industry, has announced renewed availability of on-site Trusted Partner Network (TPN) and studio-initiated site security assessments for vendors.

“It’s encouraging to see the return of a number of on-site security assessments for a range of supply chain vendors in Los Angeles, London and Mumbai,” said Convergent CEO Chris Johnson. “Over the 16 months, throughout the various lockdown periods, Convergent has been completing remote-only technical assurance engagements and TPN site security assessments. A return to on-site is a positive step towards a more comprehensive security review, as the industry steps up the number of productions.

Johnson said that the return of in-person assessments, where permitted, will prove beneficial to studios and vendors alike, allowing for more thorough reviews of a physical facilities.

“We are also witnessing many vendors expanding their operations into hybrid cloud workflows … [allowing us] to include an additional layer of the assessment focused on cloud security,” Johnson said. “For creative service providers this will include a review [around] Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud best practices, together with configuration vulnerability scanning, and, additionally, a CSA Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) assessment for SaaS application providers.”
