CPS EU: Convergent Risks to Discuss Remote Work, Incident Response

What keeps you awake at night, when thinking about the challenges remote work has brought to the creative entertainment workflow process? And just how prepared can you be if and when your unfinished content leaks, and you have to rely on an incident response application to mitigate the damage?

The team at Convergent Risks will answer those questions and more at the June 29 Content Protection Summit Europe (CPS EU) event, with insights, demos, guest speakers and more, during both main stage and breakout presentations.

First up is “What Keeps us Awake at Night: The Challenge of Remote Work in Creative M&E Workflows,” Mathew Gilliat-Smith, EVP of Convergent Risks will lead a discussion with Dr. Andrew Blyth, a computer forensics specialist, Oxford University lecturer, and professor and director of the Information Security Research Group at the University of South Wales. Blyth will offer both an academic and commercial perspective about the real-world threats facing media and entertainment in today’s remote work environment, and how theft and espionage of data and IP involve previously unseen threats.

“Much has already been said about the benefits of remote work, such as increased access to talent, improved productivity, and reduced costs. More and more interest is now being shown in how the assets we create are adequately protected, and challenging the security that’s in place at each step of the process, up to and including the very end point of freelance creativity,” Gilliat-Smith said.

“This means that we need to consider how best to establish long-term security assurance for collaborative remote working, to ensure these working environments are securely configured and content remains safe.”

Next, Chris Johnson, CEO and president of Convergent Risks, will sit down with Mark Griffiths, director for cybersecurity training and consulting firm Microft Solutions, as they tackle the topic “Don’t Let a Crisis Spoil Your Drama — Experience an Incident Response App at Work.” They’ll offer a what-if scenario where premium pre-release content has been leaked online after-hours, and demo how Convergent’s incident response app in the simulated emergency can help tackle the problem.

“Incident response is not just a matter of security, it involves many stakeholders and has multiple potential ramifications to consider,” Johnson said. “To successfully protect our reputation, finances and critical assets, testing and exercising provides opportunity for key resources to practice and hone rarely called upon skills that may prove critical in the event of an incident.

“Incident response applications can provide testing and exercising out of the box, giving the potential for you to train and prepare on the same system you intend to use in the event of an incident occurring.”
