Richey May Tech to Talk Pandemic Piracy at Dec. 8 Content Protection Summit

Film productions slowed to a crawl, theatrical releases nearly nonexistent, release schedules upended … 2020 has been a tough year for Hollywood. And one misfortunate area that’s gone underreported: a rise in piracy.

At the Dec. 8 virtual Content Protection Summit, John-Thomas Gaietto, CISSP, and executive director of cybersecurity services at Richey May Technology Solutions, will discuss the threat landscape during this unprecedented year, and answer all the questions content companies have been asking.

“As we put say ‘bon voyage!’ to the shipwreck that is 2020, we want to take a few minutes to discuss the overall economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the reflection in piracy as we all sit on our own deserted islands (some with and without rum),” said Gaietto, who will take part in the presentation “Pirates of the Coronavirus: The Curse of Work from Home.”

“The goal would be to cover some of the changes we’ve all adopted around content controls and the trends we see going into 2020.”

Presented by Microsoft Azure, the event is sponsored by SHIFT, Genpact, Akamai, Convergent Risks, Friend MTS, GeoGuard, PacketFabric, Palo Alto Networks, Richey May Technology Solutions, Splunk, Zixi, Cyberhaven, EIDR and Xcapism Learning.

The Content Protection Summit is produced by MESA, CDSA, the Hollywood IT Society (HITS) and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH), under the direction of the CDSA Board of Directors and content advisors representing Amazon Studios, Adobe, Paramount, BBC Studios, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, WarnerMedia, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, and Lego Group.
