CDSA’s Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit Returns to NAB

With more cyberattacks dominating the news, more live broadcast streams being pirated, and more privacy concerns for consumers than ever before, media and entertainment executives are constantly seeking the latest tools and solutions to counter threats and keep their end users comfortable.

To help the M&E industry better understand the state of cybersecurity and content protection, the NAB Show and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) are co-producing the third-annual Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit on Saturday, April 18 at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas.

Cybersecurity specialist Ralph Echemendia — known as the “The Ethical Hacker” — is set to deliver a keynote at the event, where he’ll examine the impact of technology on the cybersecurity space, the subsequent challenges as the hacker community migrates their strategies, and how that impacts the way we create and distribute content. His keynote is a highlight of this cross-association, collaborative industry event — running from 1-6 p.m., with a networking reception to follow — that has quickly become one of the must-attend events kicking off the NAB Show.

Added to this year’s Cyber CPS, the Trusted Partner Network (TPN), a joint endeavor of CDSA and the Motion Picture Association (MPA), hosts a TPN Workshop, designed to gather the constituencies of TPN — assessors, vendors and content owners — and the TPN Platform. Running that morning from 10 a.m. to noon, this session offers a panel for each constituency to not only discuss the progress that’s been made with TPN, but also join in an interactive Q&A session.

Assessors will be able to connect with vendors, vendors will be able to speak with their studio customers, and content owners can get more insight into how both assessors and vendors are managing the TPN process.

Produced under the direction of the CDSA Board of Directors and content advisors representing Amazon Studios, Adobe, Paramount, BBC Studios, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, WarnerMedia, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, and Lego Group, this year’s Cybersecurity & Content Protection Summit will also look ahead at the challenges facing the security community in 2020 and beyond.
