Risk assessment and compliance services firm Convergent Risks has added longtime security and technology expert Ian Trow as its new senior director of technical services for app and cloud, a nod to the growing industry demand for security testing in the space, the company said.
Trow joins Convergent nearly two years after launching Ian Trow Tech Limited, a technical consultancy which specializes in IP network design and cybersecurity, cloud-based deployments, video compression technologies and more. Prior to that, Trow spent nearly nine years with Harmonic, first as director of broadcast solutions, then as senior director of emerging technology and strategy. His previous experience also included stints as director of compression technology for Thomson, VP of technology and marketing for Envivio, and mobile segment and product manager for Tandberg Television.

He brings with him much industry experience that will be valuable to our customers and will help address the growing demand for app and cloud security testing,” said Convergent CEO Chris Johnson. “As OTT workflows become more prevalent across wider sectors Convergent will also be offering consultancy and security testing in this area for broadcasters, rights holders and licensees.”
