VDMS Adds Managed Security Services to Enterprise Cloud Solution

Verizon Digital Media Services (VDMS) has added a new, round-the-clock managed cloud security offering as part of its cloud security solution, offering access to expert security profs in order to monitor and take corrective action against new security threats, the company announced.

The new offering comes on top of previous VDMS cloud security services, including distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection, a dual web application firewall (WAF), bot management and real-time analytics and reporting.

“Any security threat or vulnerability is a distraction of resources and valuable time for a business,” said VDMS CTO Frank Orozco. “By leveraging our managed cloud security feature, our customers can now lean on our dedicated security teams to monitor and protect their web and mobile applications, so they can concentrate on growing their business.”

Based out of Verizon’s Security Operations Center, the managed cloud security offering comes from a dedicated Computer Security Incident Response Team, which manages WAF and HTTP Rate Limiting configurations, and handles planning support and recommendations. HTTP Rate Limiting is meant to tackle large DDoS attacks, while still maintaining application and mobile performance, while the dual WAF capability gives VDMS customers the ability to maintain protection on a previously approved rule while still testing new rules, both against production traffic.

VDMS’s botnet detection and mitigation services leverage fingerprinting technology to isolate botnet attacks, while still enabling legitimate users continued access.
