The U.S. faces a cybersecurity skills gap. As hacking and other cyberthreats escalate, experts agree that the U.S. lacks enough skilled cybersecurity workers to meet the challenge. There are currently over 300,000 unfilled cybersecurity jobs in the U.S., according to CyberSeek, a career website focused on cybersecurity. World-wide, meanwhile, a 2017 study from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education forecasts a 1.8 million cybersecurity worker shortage by 2022.
