BBC Studios Names Pickering Global Content Security Director (CDSA)

BBC Studios has named Alex Pickering as its new global content security director, where he’ll provide worldwide direction and leadership for all content protection matters for the company. Pickering, who is chair of the Content Delivery & Security Association’s (CDSA) European Committee, will play a key role in strategic and operational risk management for all of BBC Studios.

Pickering will also be tasked with providing information and advice to all staff to ensure that content is secure and shared correctly.

Pickering first came to BBC Worldwide in mid-2009 as head of database marketing, and was quickly elevated to head of data protection a year later. In April 2013, Pickering was named global privacy and content security director for BBC Worldwide.

Before joining BBC, Pickering served as head of data services for Bauer Media Group and data planner for News U.K.
