Important Security Updates

Apple Multiple Products: Apple has released updates in iOS, iCloud for Windows, iTunes, macOS High Sierra, Safari, tvOS, and watch OS. Additional details are available on Apple’s website.

Dropbox: Dropbox has released version 46.4.65 for its file hosting program. Updates are available at Dropbox’s website. [See Citadel’s warning below]

LastPass for Windows: LastPass has released version 4.9.0 for its Free Password Manager. Updates are available from LastPass’ website.

Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes has released version 3.4.5.2467. Updates are available from Malwarebytes website.

Mozilla Firefox: Mozilla has released Version 59.0.2. Updates are available within the browser or from Mozilla’s website.

Opera: Opera has released version 52.0.2871.40. Updates are available from within the browser or from Opera’s website.

Spotify: Spotify has released version 1.0.77.338. Updates are available on Spotify’s website.

TechSmith Corporation SnagIt: TechSmith has released version 2018.1.1.924 for SnagIt. Updates are available from TechSmith’s website.

Dropbox 46.4.65 [Citadel warns against relying on security of Dropbox or other cloud-based file exchange systems. Java SE 8 Update 161 [Citadel recommends removing or disabling Java from your browser. Java is a major source of cyber criminal exploits. It is not needed for most internet browsing. If you normally browse the Web with Firefox, for example, disable the Java plugin in Firefox and use an alternative browser — such as Chrome, IE9, Safari, etc — with Java enabled to browse only the sites that require it.]

QuickTime 7.7.9 [Citadel recommends removing QuickTime. On April 14, 2016 US-CERT advised Microsoft Windows users to remove QuickTime. This followed a report in ars technica that Apple has no plans to update the Windows app despite at least two reliable QuickTime vulnerabilities that threaten Windows users who still have the program installed.]
