Film and Television Industry Launches the Trusted Partner Network

LOS ANGELES – The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) today announced the launch of a new industry-wide, content security initiative. The Trusted Partner Network (TPN) will help prevent leaks, breaches, and hacks of film and television content by elevating the security standards of the industry’s production and distribution supply chain.

“Creating the films and television shows enjoyed by audiences around the world increasingly requires a network of specialized vendors and technicians,” said MPAA Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin. “That’s why maintaining high security standards for all third-party operations from script to screen is such an important part of preventing the theft of creative works and ultimately protects jobs and the health of our vibrant creative economy.”

The TPN provides vendors with a voluntary, cost-effective way to assess the security preparedness of their facilities, staffs, and workflows against industry best practices. Vendors who complete a TPN assessment are then published in a directory of “trusted partners” accessible to content owners and producers worldwide.

“With the TPN, the MPAA member companies have collaborated with the independents and digital content platforms to expand and coordinate industry security assessments,” said Dan Robbins, TPN Chairman and SVP and Associate General Counsel for MPAA’s legal department. “The TPN will grow the number of assessments conducted industry-wide, while saving vendors time and money, and ensuring that their facilities and systems meet industry-approved best practices.”

“The TPN is online and available for all production, post-production, and distribution operations vendors across the entire entertainment supply chain,” said TPN CEO and CDSA Executive Director Guy Finley. “Our goal is to create a dynamic industry program where entertainment vendors demonstrate to content owners around the world that they strive for the highest levels of security for their client’s content.”
