Production Security Budgets, Workflows to be Tackled at Dec. 7 Content Protection Summit

How are studios and production companies budgeting for the security needs of film and TV shoots, and what are the baseline measures needed to secure every project?

Those are the topics Lulu Zezza, production executive for New Regency Productions, will tackle Dec. 7 at the eighth annual CDSA Content Protection Summit at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles, during her presentation “Budgeting for Security in Production and Post Production.”

Keeping on top of security during productions is just as important as securing content during distribution, and maybe even more so when it comes to keeping dailies and the information of the cast and crew locked down. And for smaller projects without big budgets, some security measures might need to be scaled down, or even eliminated. Determining what’s needed and what can go by the wayside will be among the topics Zezza will tackle.

Following her morning presentation, Zezza will be joined by Bryan Ellenburg, security consultant for the Content Delivery & Security Association, and conference chair for the Content Protection Summit, for the panel “Securing Workflows of All Things Digital.”

They’ll look at the best practices out there for securing the content supply chain, from the script, to pre-production, to production, to post production. A combination of collaboration in each area of the content’s life and the right security tools are needed to lock down the most sensitive and confidential information associated, including scripts, locations, budgets, casting, art, props, costumes, call sheets, dailies, editing systems and visual effects.
