CDSA’s Content Protection and Security Certification Program Continues to Gain Key Industry Support
PRINCETON, NJ, USA – 22 December 2009 – Further demonstrating the significance of its recently enhanced “Content Protection and Security Standards” for the entertainment, games, software, and information content community, the Content Delivery and Storage Association (CDSA) today announced exceptional growth in new applications for certification in the fourth quarter of 2009.
A leader in content security and anti-piracy programs for over 10 years, CDSA’s Anti-Piracy and Compliance Programs (APCP) include international standards Copyright and Licensing Verification for media manufacturers, and the Content Protection and Security for all points along the supply chain.
Already supported by major content owners, such as NBC Universal Pictures and Electronic Arts, the “Content Protection and Security Standards” is quickly gaining additional momentum and becoming an essential part of operating a secure business.
Applications for certification to the “Content Protection and Security Standards” certification program continue to demonstrate exceptional momentum internationally. The latest applicants to the program are Cinram Logistics UK Ltd., United Kingdom; D G Packaging, Italy; Duplas Avelca, Italy; I-Frame, The Netherlands; IMS International Media Services, Italy; and Kingston Technology Company, Inc., California.
“The enthusiastic interest in the Content Protection and Security Program highlights the value the APCP programs bring to the content community,” said Charles Van Horn, president of the Content Delivery and Storage Association. “Content holders demand assurances from its business partners that their content is handled and maintained in a responsible and secure manner.”
“The increase in certification applications further punctuates the importance of our standards to the continued health and wellbeing of this industry,” said Linda Dyson, CDSA’s worldwide director of APCP programs. “It also demonstrates the power of our knowledgeable team of piracy and security experts, to develop a set of cutting-edge standards and best practices that meet the needs of both IP owners and their supply chain partners, through our Content Protection and Security Standards and certification program.”
In the Summer of 2008, Summit CD Manufacture Pte. Ltd, Opendisc, and Deluxe Digital Studios became the first companies certified to the CDSA’s security standards program. Summit CD Manufacture Pte. Ltd. is a leading replicator of CD and DVD located in Singapore. Opendisc, located in Paris, France, is a supply chain partner of Sony Music, which encouraged the development of the standard and has a customer base that relies upon electronic delivery of music, games, video and other content. Deluxe Digital Studios, a division of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group located in Burbank, California, is a post-production facility serving major film studios.
CDSA is recognized as the worldwide leader in copyright protection standards and for the last decade has operated the Anti-Piracy Verification Program which is adhered to by the world’s leading replicators. Its newly developed Content Protection and Security Standard was written by anti-piracy and security experts from both the physical and digital areas thus giving coverage to all points along the entire supply chain to protect and maintain security of physical and digital assets. Developed in 1999 at the request of content owners and media manufacturers, the APCP incorporate stringent procedures and independent audits by ISO-experienced auditors to protect intellectual property virtually at every stage along the content delivery supply chain worldwide.
CDSA has APCP offices in Atlanta, Hong Kong, and London.
